European Cooperation Day is an initiative of the INTERACT network Programme, in which all EU members-state participate, aiming to highlight the role of cooperation across borders in the European Union and with its neighbours –a celebration of all the benefits European Territorial Cooperation brings to people across Europe. Each year more than 70 European Territorial Cooperation Programmes participate, organising more than 250 events in total.
The IPA Cross-border Programme “Greece – Albania 2007 – 2013” has a strong reputation of organizing successful athletic events for the celebration of the European Cooperation Day. For 2016, the IPA Cross-border Programme “Greece – Albania 2007 – 2013” & the Transnational Cooperation Programme Interreg V-B “Balkan – Mediterranean 2014 – 2020” aim to organize a running race, entitled “Running for cooperation”, for a distance of 10km, starting from Kristallopigi in Greece and ending in Billisht in Albania. The event will take place on Sunday the 25th of September 2016, at approximately 12:00 noon and will accept a maximum of 100 participants from both countries.
Electronic registration and analytical programme of the activity will be soon available.
The European Cooperation Day is a celebration of EU cooperation and good neighbourhood. The success of every event is measured through participation. We urge you to responsively register yourselves in the event, based on your actual participation for the safeguard of its success.
