The 1st Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), jointly organised by the European Commission and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, is taking place in Dubrovnik (Croatia) on 12/13 May 2016. This event will take stock of the progress of the Strategy since its endorsement by the European Council in October 2014, and will contribute to define the way forward.
Scheduled speakers include Corina Creţu, Commissioner for Regional Policy; Miro Kovač, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia and pro tempore Chair of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative (AII), along with Foreign Affairs Ministers of all involved countries; Anton Kliman, Minister of Tourism of Croatia; Patrizio Bianchi, Regional Minister of Education, Vocational Education, University and Research, Labour, Emilia-Romagna (Italy), and Ivan Jakovčić, Member of the European Parliament.
More than 500 participants have already registered! If you cannot attend, you can still follow the discussions through web-streaming.
Do not miss the opportunity to be part of the reflection on how to make the Adriatic and Ionian more resilient, and how to unlock the potential of the Region through the added value of multi-level governance.
Also, three parallel sessions will provide you with different experiences and opinions around the following issues: 1) Reconciling conflicting interests in a shared maritime space; 2) Seeking enhanced cooperation in the transport and energy sectors; 3) Smart approach for a sustainable and attractive region.
