Mavitra is a Project financed by the UE Interreg IIIB Programme. The project main aim is helping workers' mobility in the Mediterranean Basin, with the creation of a virtual labour market and with the improvement of the national work intermediation services. Mavitra main goal is to help the encounter between work supply and demand, compensating the supply and demand shortage in the different geographical areas involved by the project: Greece, Italy, Spain, Morocco and Tunisia, as well as helping to reduce the irregular emigration and immigration problem in these countries.

In order to attain this goal of reinforcing the labour intermediation services in the target countries and promoting workers mobility, the project is managing the following activities:
creating 2 pilot mobility service desks

  • development of field studies and research

  • best practice exchange between national labour services

  • offering on line training courses to workers who are willing to emigrate

  • granting a certified system to help recognizing the emigrating workers professional qualification and CV studies in the destination country

  • creating an international database for the exchange of work demand and supply
